Rescheduling an Appointment for Computer-Based Exams within your 90 Day Testing Window
There is a $25.00 fee (assessed by Prometric) if you change the date of an appointment with a Prometric testing center within 30 days of that appointment. The deadline for that cancellation is 12:00 pm Eastern time the fifth business day prior to your appointment. If an appointment is cancelled less than 5 business days before the appointment, you must request a new 90 day testing window using the procedure below.
New 90-Day Testing Window for Computer-Based Exams
In the event that a candidate is unable to test during the 90 day testing window, the candidate may, one time only, request a new 90 day testing window. The fee is $100. This new testing window may not begin more than 6 months from the last day of the initial testing window. To make this request, please complete the Reassignment Request Form. Please wait until your initial testing window has ended to send in this form. You must cancel any previously scheduled appointments with Prometric to take advantage of this option.
Permanent Withdrawal and Partial Refund for Computer-Based Exams
Requests for permanent withdrawal must be received by ANCC before the expiration of the assigned 90 day eligibility period. You must cancel any previously scheduled appointments with Prometric in order not to be charged the full test fee. An administrative fee of $140 and any special fees are nonrefundable. If you decide to apply for certification again at a later date, you must complete a new application, pay fees, and meet all eligibility requirements in effect for the year in which you reapply.
