Research, Resources, and Education

Research

Goal
Advance research and scholarly inquiry relative to continuing education, e.g. its impact, outcomes relative to delivery method, ‘predictors' of outcomes, etc.

Background
Due to the absence of research data regarding continuing education and the impact of continuing education on nursing care, we are asking our accredited organizations to share with us the nature of any studies you may be doing within your provider or approver unit. For example, say you provide a medical Spanish CE activity and you have implemented a new way to determine if your CE has made it easier for the participating nurses to treat their Spanish speaking patients. What means or methods are you using to determine this? What is your hypothesis that you are addressing?

Request
If you have a study to tell us about, please share the following information:

  • The title of the study
  • A short description (50 words maximum) of the study, and
  • Contact information for your provider or approver unit.

We would like to post your study on our website to share with other accredited organizations. A new page will be created on our web site under "Research, Resources and Education" tab.

If you have any questions about your study, please contact kathy.chappell@ana.org.
